Meet the Founders
Marcio Araujo
Marcio Araujo, Ph.D., P.E. is the Co-Founder of MCA Engineering, LLC, which was established in 2019 in Baton Rouge. Dr. Araujo has worked as discipline lead, project manager, C/S department manager, office operations manager, construction supervisor and academic researcher. He has successfully completed industrial, commercial and residential projects ranging from fire station building to process unit expansions for multiple clients. Originally from Brazil, where he received his undergraduate education, he moved to the US in pursuit of higher education and received his MS and Doctorate degrees in civil engineering from Louisiana State University. He is a proud Tigers fan with interest in innovative technology applications including the use of virtual, augmented and hybrid realities applied to structural engineering.
Richard Farmer
Richard Farmer, Co-founder and Operations Lead, brings over three decades of expertise from his tenure at Shell Oil Company. Graduating from Louisiana Tech with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering in 1980, Richard’s career spanned various roles in engineering, project management, logistics, and operational excellence across eight different locations in the US. His leadership encompassed operations, maintenance, and capital project management, where he oversaw engineering resources for petrochemical operations. Richard’s admiration for Dr. Araujo’s technical prowess and dedication to quality made the vision for a successful partnership clear, rooted in shared values of excellence and customer focus. Together, they laid the foundation for a dynamic collaboration committed to delivering exceptional results.
